Sometimes clothes wear down beyond repair, and bathing suits in particular are not often passed down. So what better way to cut down on material waste than with a compostable bathing suit? Eco-luxury designer Linda Loudermilk [4] recently debuted the world’s first compostable swimsuit at the HauteNatured [5] swimwear show at Miami Swim Week [6]. Made from plant starch, the suit can break down without a trace in just under 180 days. But best of all? It’s very inexpensive. So if you’re a fickle fashionista, this might just be the summer swim piece you’ve been searching for.
