Sadly the truth here is this idea is giving the powers that be the excuse to do nothing about the decline in bee numbers. If ever the day arrives when there are no bees left I doubt whether the real concern will be colourless gardens. More like empty dinner plates and hungry people.
This idea is fine in a science fiction world but we haven't given up yet on forcing the corporations responsible for the pesticides, genetically modified pollen, nanotechnology materials and even the latest electromagnetic resonance that has all been linked with CCD. Note the lack of a mention of Varroa mites here. That's because if the bees were dying because of parasitism they would be heaped up outside the hives. In CCD the bees are completely absent, no trace to be found.
