Gallery: Loq•kit Modular Homes Made With Interchageable Parts

 

The concept behind Loq•kit homes is the use of modular and interchangeable parts – kinda like Legos for homes. Loq•kit homes were originally conceived by PAF Architecture back in 2003 and they’ve been working on configurations and snap-lock parts ever since. Their designs have a strong focus on solar passive design, simple but striking exteriors and use several renewable energy systems.

    Do you have any floor plans or additional drawings of your homes? What are the square footage limits? How many homes have you built? What is a total kit cost? How is it delivered? What kind of lead time is needed?

    This is a great project. I like the fact that the parts interchangeable; it really shows how modular housing can be individualized. Id like to look at some different layouts that the home might have, and any structural information you might have.

    Great idea, as long as they can make it affordable for the middle income – then they would have a great product if/when it becomes a reality.
