E-Bicycle manufacturer M55 Bikes have just unveiled their latest hybrid electric bicycle, dubbed The Beast. While most electric bicycles made are designed to help their riders get up steep hills, The Beast’s unique “pedelec” system enables the e-bike to obtain a top speed of 40 mph. With a hybrid system that allows the user to pedal, as well as use the on board battery to power the electric motor, The Beast can go as far as 75 miles on a single charge.
Designed using technology and materials that are often found in Formula One cars, The Beast is unlike anything else found on the road. Its frame includes CNC, titanium and carbon fiber, and while this may seem over the top for a push bike, the material choices alone show the amount of time and effort that has gone into designing it. But of course, a bike of this caliber is likely to only a few riders who have the budget to purchase it – and while the price has not been disclosed on the M55 website, it is safe to assume that if you have to ask, it is beyond your reach.
The Beast recently turned heads when it made its debut at the 2010 SEMA Auto Show, and pre-orders for the bike are in effect. So if you have a budget large enough for this fine piece of machinery, then do go to M55’s website and place your order.
