Grimshaw Architects [1] recently announced that construction is set to resume on Manhattan’s dazzling daylit Fulton Street Transit Center [2] after a lengthy delay due to budget cuts. The shining four-story structure is topped with a gigantic oculus that floods the interior with daylight, reducing the amount of energy consumed by artificial lighting. The center, which is set to be completed in 2014 [2], will host a retail center and will provide access to 12 subway lines and the World Trade Center [3] PATH station.
