Finding a good space to store your bike at home can sometimes get a bit tricky, especially for those of us that live in a small flat or have no yard. Chilean designer Manuel Roseel tackled this common issue with a sleek furniture line called Chol1 that doubles as a bike rack. Bookcases, small tables, a couch and a desk make up the zany collection for 2-wheeled devotees and looks great with or without the bike.
Roseel’s furniture line is a great alternative to regular wall-mounted racks, because it doesn’t display the vehicle on the wall, nor does it rest the bike on the floor. Each furniture piece has a groove to slot the bike in, allowing users to simultaneously display books, shoes, and other items on the shelves, along with the bike. These wonderful designs make your beloved bike part of the decoration, keeping it on display, accessible and safe.
Without the bike, however, the multi-functional furniture still looks sleek and modern. It also encourages people to use bikes more frequently, allow them to save on transport, pollute less and get more exercise. Rossel’s brand-new designs are only available in Chile at the moment, but hopes are up for international shipping.
