Mara Hoffman’s S/S 2012 Collection Brings the Tropics to New York Fashion Week

Few designers can bring a live mariachi band to New York Fashion Week and make it work – but that’s exactly what Mara Hoffman did for her lively Spring 2012 collection. Called “Mexican Mamas,” the sultry show was inspired by the women of Mexico, in particular, painter Frida Kahlo. Even though the feel was totally south of the border, the beautiful custom-designed silk prints were manufactured in the good old U.S. of A.
