With its simplified, silouhette-like form, soft glow, and ingenious function, Maria Hamprecht’s SW° Solar Lamp really does shine- metaphorically AND literally. Leave the “lamp” on a sunny window sill and let it absorb sunlight all day long; and come home to a lovely glowing lamp at night that has no need for plugs or electricity. Powered by an ultra-green combination of photovoltaic film and LED’s, Maria’s SW° prototype was part of her diploma thesis project, whose theme was the silhouette. The lamp’s simple form is, not surprisingly, inspired by the crisp shape of its shadow cast on a table.

Is it on sale somewhere?
I’m a client!

Brilliant idea (no pun intended). kinda cheesy design.
No information about availability or price?
Also, I’m curious if the lamp can be turned off, or does it simply glow until it is out of energy?
How long will it stay aglow after sunning up?
I dont know what the buzz is about in Israel all the bus-stops and street signs are auto-solar powered, and so are 90% of the heating boilers..
Dear Maria,
Congratulations! Where can I purchase your light?
Most sincerely,
Nicole Vidor
