I bought 4 pieces, including the bed shown above and a media cabinet similar to the cabinet above. They're beautiful. I ordered them on December 5, 2006 and accepted delivery on June 1, 2007. I don't think I'd wait that long again.

I found this great site that offers vintage furniture. It's a great addition to sustainable resources: www.objectsintheloft.com

Sally,

You can learn more about Maria Yee at www.mariayee.com. All of Maria Yee's products are finished with only water-based or low-solvent materials. Some of Maria Yee's BambooTimbre products are colored through a carbonization process using steam heating. No peroxides are ever used. Moreover, BambooTimbre never needs synthetic polymers to protect the surface, therefore never releasing any harmful volatile compounds into our environment.

I would suggest you visit Gump's San Francisco or the SF-based Crate&Barrel for a selection of Maria Yee items. Room&Board in San Francisco also carries a wide selection of Maria Yee products. If you'd like more store listings, you can email info@mariayee.com.

Hi,
I live in Berkeley, but am willing to travel. Where can I see/purchase Maria Yee's furniture?

Does she have a web site?

Does she use stains, lacquers that do not "off gas"?

Thanks,

Sally

Maria Yee's unique home furnishings are designer beautiful, yet price accessible. You can email info@mariayee.com to find a retailer nearest you, who can provide specific pricing and product availability.

Evelyn, the bed frame you're referring to is called the Metro low platform bed. You can order the item from either Gump's San Francisco, CA (800.766.7628) or Star Pierce Design, San Anselmo, CA (415.455.9697). A queen-size bed retails for approximately $3,600.
