As part of the Vivid Sydney event, architect Vin Rathod created a spectacular kaleidoscopic light installation called Kaleido Wall 1.0. Located across from the famed Sydney Opera House, the multicolored Kaleido Wall puts a colorful new spin on the familiar space.
Rathod’s 4-foot deep Kaleido Wall is made of modular latticework covered in highly reflective panels to mirror light and movement, creating mesmerizing patterns of color. The structure uses the surrounding light sources for reflection that can be seen during the day or at night. Reflecting its immediate environment on the Sydney harbor, visitors can view the iconic Sydney Opera House in tiny mosaic forms.
Kaleido Wall 1.0 was one of the many installations that were featured during the Vivid Sydney event, a annual celebration of light, music and artistic expression brought together to illuminate some of Sydney’s most iconic architecture.
