Method Homes is dropping prefabs like they're hot -- and this recently installed custom M2 in Glacier, WA may be their most stunning house yet. The M2 home is part of their SML Series, which features three units of different sizes that can be combined in a multitude of ways. The Washington home is composed of two M-series units combined by a site-built bridge. As with all Method Homes, this one was designed to LEED Gold certification and features environmentally-friendly materials, energy-efficient appliances, resource efficiency, and a super tight building envelope.
This M2 home is a custom modular design for a family in Glacier that includes two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and a kitchen and dining room. Measuring in at 1,295 square feet, the home is smartly-designed and makes efficient use of space. Two medium modular units are combined to make the house, and they are joined by a bridge built on-site after the units were delivered. One side contains two bedrooms and a bathroom, while the other contains the kitchen, dining, living and utility room.
Method Homes targets LEED for homes 2.0 Gold certification or higher for all of their prefabs, which requires natural daylighting, ventilation, radiant heating, no-VOC finishes and energy-efficient design. This custom M2 prefab home also features corrugated metal siding and a standing seam metal roof, a mini-split heating system, on-demand hot water, FSC-certified maple cabinets and floors, dual-flush toilets and low-flow fixtures, EcoTop counters, and a Morso high-efficiency wood stove. The entire project took 3 months to complete from start to finish.
