Metropolis Magazine is hosting a unique humanitarian-focused design conference at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair. On Monday, May 19, Metropolis will present Design Entrepreneurs: Make Good and Prosper [2] from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. With a focus on political, social and personal aspects of design, this event is sure to be a stimulating design forum filled with future forward ideas towards a more sustainable world. Moderated by Metropolis editor in chief Susan S. Szenasy, the conference will “explore the many and varied ways that successful business ventures can be good for the environment and society, as well as the individual’s body and soul.”

This year’s dynamic speakers include Edible Estates author Fritz Haeg [3], fuseproject [4] founder Yves Behar, award-winning architect Eric Olsen [5], and Inhabitat’s own Emily Pilloton [6], founder of Project H Design [7]. Fresh from her recent endeavor delivering hippo water rollers [8] in South Africa, Emily will present Social Minded Product Design on Monday, May 19th, from 3:10–3:40 p.m. [2], discussing the recent successes of Project H Design’s initiatives, talking about her vision of how design can change the world [9], and also reflecting on the success of Inhabitat’s Greener Gadgets Conference [10].

This is one of the hottest events at ICFF [15] this year – a definite can’t miss opportunity to hear some of the most influential and inspired visionaries share their perspectives on how businesses and designers can help create a more sustainable world. The all-day conference will be held on Monday, May 19, from 10am to 5pm in the ICFF Theatre.
