Gallery: Michael Robbins Handcrafts Beautiful Furniture From Sustainabl...

Michael Robbins crafts beautiful furniture in Upstate New York from sustainably sourced wood. Production takes place in an old barn in the Hudson Valley, where every piece of furniture is designed and handmade by Michael himself. Drawing from simplicity, utility and a joy of form, Michael’s debut line was just released in Fall of 2012.

Michael Robbins, a native of Upstate New York, began making furniture in Northern New Mexico, where he designed and built a series of stools and chairs for the adobe home he had just finished building. Enjoying the challenge of the chair, and the responsibility it endures, Robbins continued to explore its form and structure. Eventually he moved back to Upstate NY where he expanded his line of seating to include tables and lighting. His furniture is produced in small quantities, shaped and joined by hand, using wood sourced from sustainable forestry practices.
