Michal Jelinek’s Black Ice Glider Is a Fuel Cell-Powered Winter Wonder Vehicle

by , 09/05/11

Michel Jelinek, Black Ice Glider, concept vehicle, fuel cell, electric vehicle, turbine car, green automotive design, green transportation, alternative transportation

Designer Michal Jelinek recently put together a series of concept vehicles for use on ice. We particularly like this one, called Black Ice, which is a fuel cell turbine-powered glider. Hydrogen fuel cells would give this vehicle seriously green propulsion, but what we love best about this glider is the traction provided by the one giant tire the driver sits inside to steer.

So apparently, neither Michal Jelinek or Inhabitat has had a winter reverie destroyed by the sound of an off-road vehicle, or a day at the beach ruined by the persistent drone of mindless jet-skiers.

“Design will save the world.” Indeed. How exactly?
