Gallery: Mini Moderns Launches Line of Reclaimed and Recycled Paint

Mini Moderns is known for their textiles and wallpaper, and they just added to their offerings by launching a line of environmentally responsible paint made from left-over unwanted paint. The range was developed in partnership with Newlife Paints, an award-winning eco paint manufacturer that specializes in reprocessing waste water-based paint to create premium grade emulsion paint. The product is rescued and then carefully mixed into a range of colors perfectly compliment Mini Moderns‘s existing products.

All products in the new range contain up to 90% recycled content, which is sourced from waste paint that has been diverted from the landfill or incerators. The color range includes Bitter Chocolate, Washed Denim and Tangerine Dream. Mini Moderns‘ founders Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire found Newlife Paints via Twitter: “We thought to ourselves: Paint made from paint that has been thrown away – surely thatʼs too good to be true? But once we had visited Newlife Paintʼs factory and met Keith Harrison, the brains behind the operation, we were convinced that this was an amazing opportunity.”

DIYers rejoice – they are also introducing Mini Moderns Project Pots. These are 250ml (at least twice the size of a regular sample pot) so they can be used to really test a color or to complete a small project, such as painting a feature chimney breast or a piece of furniture. Keith and Mark say: “Our paint is like magic – taking unwanted paint and mixing it to the shades of our wallpapers. Newlife Paints have not only helped us to create a bespoke range of colours, but to help the environment too.”
