Inhabitat favorite, Molo [1], will be unveiling a brand new series of sustainable lamps in just a few weeks at this year’s ICFF [2] in New York City [3]. Founders and designers Stephanie Forsythe and Todd MacAllen designed their new LED SoftLight lamps with not only energy-efficiency in mind, but the beautiful lighting fixtures also aim to cut down on waste, featuring pillowy shades constructed from 100% recyclable Tyvek.

The soft luminous pendants are internally lit by LED lights and have shades made from the same white textile as the Urchin SoftLight [5] and SoftWall and SoftBlock installations. The non-woven polyethylene material named Tyvek, is 100% recyclable and made from 5 to 15% recycled content.

The lightweight paper [6] material is UV, tear and water-resistant and comprises hundreds of honeycomb-like [7] forms. The elegant pieces rest on three delicate wooden legs and radiate a low glare light suitable for reading and doing detailed work.

To mark the occasion of this release, Molo will be making available a limited number of cloud floor and table softlights for purchase at ICFF [8].
