Chicago’s Fashion Focus Week is currently underway, and considering the amazing student talent in Chicago these days, it is not surprising to discover that fresh green shoots of sustainable style are increasingly visible on the streets and sidewalks of the windy city. This year’s fashion week line up will feature the first ever Museum of Sustainable Style (MoSS) exhibit, curated by Pivot Boutique, Chicago’s own eco fashion, go-to-source for green glam style. With a fabulous line up of movers and shakers on the local and international design scene, MoSS promises to be a great new resource for greening fashion weeks and trans-seasonal collections everywhere.

Jessa Brinkmeyer, the owner of Pivot Boutique, is the principal curator of MoSS, and as Chicago’s first eco fashion boutique offering the collections of more than 40 local and international designers. Pivot is the city’s definite front runner when it comes to promoting the beauty and value of sustainable design. Jessa is as passionate about bringing the best of Chicago eco fashion to the world as she is about bringing the world to see the state-of-the-art textiles and latest green fabrics used by her featured designers.

The Museum of Sustainable Style exhibit runs from October 2 to 5 and will feature eco-inspired clothing, accessories, and furniture showcased at Brickermade Studio in Chicago. Featured designers and collaborators include Annie Novotny of Frei Designs, Lara Miller, Alice Berry, Jane Palmer and Marianne Fairbanks of Noon Solar, Joshua Height of Brickermade and Michele Fitzpatrick of Verde Design Studio.

MoSS is also featuring a panel discussion on Sustainability & Everyday Lifestyle, on Saturday, October 4 from 2 to 3 p.m., with a reception to follow. No reservations are required and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sounds like an informative way to celebrate eco fashion with designers and fashionistas this weekend!
