Gallery: MVN Arquitectos Renovates Industrial Warehouse Into Gorgeous G...

The building's preserved brick exterior is accented by modern finishes.

The Botín Foundation is an organization that contributes to the social development of Cantabria, and their new office exemplifies this mission through its creative design. Exposed brick and black metal compliments the addition of wood cladding to the interior walls, ceiling, and flooring. Industrial polycarbonate wall panels help to bring in much-needed light from the interior light wells. The design team also exposed HVAC, lighting and mechanical equipment to add a sophisticated touch to the building’s industrial-chic style.

The renovation’s green building strategies can be seen from the moment visitors enter the lobby. A double-height atrium with living trees and natural daylight is one of the most dramatic spaces in the building. The ground floor is made up of modular and flexible spaces to allow for multiple uses and activities. These spaces are warmed by the use of wood cladding. The second floor is made up of private meeting rooms and spaces that are lit by the glazed polycarbonate walls surrounding the atrium.
