The idea is to turn the Artisan Barn into eastern Washington's ultimate outdoor performance and art venue

The existing facility boasts an artist studio, performance center, gallery and gift shop, but the grant will allow it to expand. In addition to the new classroom which will be made from salvaged metal and wood siding taken from a loafing shed dismantled on-site, the designers hope to incorporate a new amphitheater and outdoor public art space that will transform Artisan Barn into the destination for outdoor art in the region.

The barn’s design takes inspiration from the surrounding vernacular while the fencing pays tribute to the region’s iconic wheel fence (comprised of repurposed metal wagon wheels). We’re particular fond of barn renovations that create a meaningful bridge between and contemporary society.
