One wonders how many free-range "ghetto chickens", and their resulting eggs, could be raised in, for example, Detroit, with 100 Grand, and ordinary (and much cheaper) Farm Store or Co-Op bred chicks, along with voluntary animal husbandry training for ghetto gang members. The Chinese Proverb "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" comes to mind.

This is a mindless waste of money- a rich boy or girl's toy. I converted my children's cubby house into a two storey hen house with fox proof mesh that cost me a couple of hundred dollars. Are my chickens any less happy for the lack of a chandelier or framed paintings on the wall?

On second thought, rather than spend 100 grand on such an item, would it not be better to use that money to feed hungry children in America? Perhaps serious consideration should be given to gifting that same sum of money to the people who work so hard to bring us these wonderful pages of "Inhabitat!"

This angers me in ways that I cannot fully articulate. The worst of it is, not having access to the pretentious creeps who either design or buy these travesties, now I want to go punch a chicken.
