Teaching kids about environmental issues can be a fine balance: too little information and they miss the point, too much and they wake up with nightmares about tsunamis and hurricanes. A new 3D cartoon called Planet Blue will help parents strike that balance by combining laughter and heart-pounding adventures with a positive attitude about our ability to save the planet. "Children who watch it will become more aware and develop skills that empower them to make a difference," says series creator Victoria Lauren. For a sneak peek, watch the video after the jump.
Planet Blue will help children understand the need to protect and care for Earth, and it will give them the tools to do so. The first season follows the adventures of Planet Blue and Sunny Sun as they encounter a range of environmental issues facing our rainforests and oceans today.
Each adventure starts with the children stepping into the Planet Blue Vortex where they are magically transformed into animated Planet Blue Savers. In each episode, they’ll visit a new region of the world where they will discover and share new ways to help Planet Blue.
“We firmly believe that this compassion-oriented approach is the key to instilling not only Planet Blue’s educational values but the further-reaching values that will enable our children to lead the way into tomorrow,” says Lauren.
The talented team behind Planet Blue holds 31 Emmy Awards between them. The show is produced by the multi-award winning Magnetic Dreams, Inc., who has collaborated on projects with Sesame Workshop, Marvel Entertainment, and DreamWorks.
