New Bee Species Discovered Brooklyn, NY!

Honeybee decline may be a serious problem, but there is some great bee news coming out of New York City this week: a whole new bee species has been discovered in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden! Officially — and appropriately! — named “Lasioglossum gotham,” the new insect is just one of four new bee species discovered in the greater New York area. Given the seemingly unstoppable decline in honeybees, the exciting news is a very good sign.
