Personlly I think they should use small 50CC motors connected to an alternator or generator to generate electricity and use that energy to drive an auto. Coupled with breaking generators for added power. Far more efficient than todays standard v6 engines I think. Guessing 65 miles to the gallon.

Until they get 300 miles on a single charge and a recharge rate of 10 minutes or less electric cars won\\\'t be main stream. Mainly because fewer than 40% of the population have a means to charge at home. So gas/electric stations need to fill up in nearly the same time as it now take to fill a 30 gallon gas tank.

Where's my Electric / Diesel plug-in hybrid VW Golf option?

I want that one. 50km on battery, and a Golf TDi as well?

Yes please. Until then, go away with the electric Noddy cars.

Range anxiety (Erangetile Dysfunction?) is not what worries electric car makers these days. What worries them is that the fact that NOBODY is buying their cars, and that despite massive gov't intervention and interference, they can't get out of second gear in selling these things.

Great news. What about the security of this system? Li-iron phosphat are used for EV despite their slightly lower energy density, however they are much more userfreindly and save.
