Cedar Haven is a forest retreat inspired by the cedar trees and tranquility of its surrounding area. Following the specifications of the homeowners who wanted an escape that would fit amicably on a site where an old log cabin once sat, they hired Gelotte Hommas to build the stunning, contemporary residence. Many of the logs, used as decorative and structural pieces, were reclaimed from the site itself, along with branches, stones and other locally found objects.

It would be nice if they used a more contemporary aesthetic. The use of local and recycled materials is admirable though.
