Being a New Yorker myself I could not agree more! I own a North Fork Hotel which is located right in the wine country of Long Island, and I can say for sure that the Eco Friendly wine is a great idea.

I am often amazed about how some of so against change for the best, when there is clearly a need for it!

You\'re right Ed. Big grocery stores would bring in wine from overseas, just like every liquor store in New York state already does. They would also bring in wine from wineries all across New York state. Allowing wine in grocery stores would give the New York wine industry the market it needs in order to grow and thrive. Every other major wine producing state has had the benefit of selling wine in grocery stores, and we should have the same opportunity here. What is so wrong about being able to buy a bottle of wine for dinner at the same place where you buy your groceries?

Because big grocery would bring in cheap wine from overseas, leaving a much larger "carbon footprint" than local wine purchsed at the scource or a neighborhood wine store, wine in grocery stores is a bad idea
