Architect Nicholas Feldmeyer re-imagines existing buildings to create dramatic installations, such as this portico weave in London. By using the existing dimensions of the main building of University College London, Feldmeyer created a woven web throughout the principle columns of the space, transforming it into a unique art installation.

This style is common in the Swiss architect’s work, in which he molds what is already established to create something new, yet temporary. Within London’s Christ Church Spitalfields Crypt, Feldmeyer created a suspended ceiling by hanging layers of material. His work gives buildings a new shape, and encourages a different perspective of the space.
