What ever happened to the “aerodynamic = efficent idea” …square is THE WORST you can do for a shape
of a car that you want to be energy saving.Hey, what ever happened to good design, you forgot the tail fins !

The design is obviously derived form the iconic Scion Xb (2006 and earlier). It is a class of vehicle known as an “urban utility vehicle” or “UUV” as opposed to the SUV.

The ease of entry, roomy interior, fold-down seats and extra cargo space, make the Scion Xb a very useful vehicle, which I find fun to drive,

Now that Scion has changed the basic design of the Xb to more mainstream tastes, I would look forward to the EV-02.

Not sure the design of the car really fits the market most likely to buy it, but it’ll be exciting to see how this one turns out.

Why? Why do most upcomming EV\’s or even smaller \”fuel efficient\” vehicles look like a squared up turd? Am I the only one thinking that only by combining good aerodynamic design plus new battery/motor/charging technology we can create tomorrows vehicles? This thing must have a drag coefficient close to .9, and that flat back end probably lends itself to some aerodynamic suction. We need to break the molds of what is expected out of a car, and the shapes that dictated yesterdays design.

Portugal is one of the first world markets (and the first European) where will be introduced the models of Renault-Nissan electric cars, with release scheduled for the beginning of 2011. Portugal will have 320 charging stations for electric cars in 2010.That number will reach 1300 at the end of 2011. French carmaker Renault and its Japanese partner Nissan have been working on the development of a battery powered car with a 160 Km range.
