The car is cute. But $36,000.00? How much does this thing realy cost to build? I sat down and figured what I would spend in a year driving my SUV. It costs me less to keep the gass hog for a few years more ( I spend $100 a week at 52 weeks a year for a grand total of $5,200.00 per year). Please creat somthing green that compares to a scooter or a motorcycle in price.

Dear Sir,

Apparently the biggest drawback of electric automobiles is their limited range.

If the batteries were easily replaceable, 5 to 10 minutes with special equipment, then service stations could stock charged batteries for exchange.

Regards,

No, can't buy it. Limited range $36k? Buy an aptera hybrid. It has all the advantages of the NmG none of the drawbacks PLUS has a range of 600miles and it costs less.

I am 6'3" tall. This thing would work better for me as a SHOE, rather than something that I want to surrender my knees to.

75 mph? I wonder what it looks like after an 18 wheeler cuts it off with a sudden lane change?

The reason this will not sell well is because of the $36,000 price tag. People are not going to pay more $ for less vehicle. The reason someone buys an economy vehicle is because they want to save money. They are not willing to pay the price of 2 cars for 1 motorcycle sized car.

I was sold until I saw the $36K price. I think half that price would be too much for a one-seater that only goes 25-30 miles at a time. Even with gas prices going through the roof there are much better options among regular vehicles. Nice try, though.

I don't get it. This is the Corbin Sparrow, first available in 1999 for around $10,000. 75 MPH, 30 miles on a charge... exact same vehicle: http://www.corbinsparrow.com/ Unfortunately, the corbin company declared bankcruptcy and I don't think the vehicles are being manufactured. Perhaps this is a licensed copy?

This should be built in China for about $5000, and retail for less than $10K.

If the Chinese can build a Chevy knock-off (the Cherry) - a whole car - for $20K, I bet they can build this for $5K.

this car has been around for years an is nothing new. Myers bought the rights to the failed sparrow car a few years ago. I was able to sit in this 2 years ago at the Cleveland auto show and while cool, its pretty poorly made. In fact, it felt like something little tykes would make.

Don't you guys recognize this car? It's the Corbin Sparrow. These were made in Hollister CA from 1999-2002 until the company went bankrupt. Myers must be the new owner. They used to sell for $14-17K. I owned one - it created quite a stir everywhere I drove it! See www.corbinsparrow.com for more info...

good job guys... this car failed once... it will fail again.

not saying that it isn't good in concept, but really... I am getting tired of all these concepts. when are the engineers going to take over the green car market from the Designers and PR department?

Minneapolis is home to a pizza shop that delivers in these delightful little electric cars. I'm pretty sure they deliver in these year-round. Oh, and they wear super-hero suits, which is both hilarious and endearing.

In response to Nick, a motorcycle license might well be required by state statute. I suspect anyone who rides would agree that this is an absolutely great consideration. Being the smallest vehicle on the road requires a very different attitude and awareness. Acquiring a motorcycle license is relatively easy. Rider training courses are offered in many large cities at minimal cost (they typically provide a mo') and the courses often finish with the riding portion of the exam.
