This gorgeous cantilevering Northface Home in Norway was originally built in 1969 but the owners wanted to open it up in keeping with the times, so they called on Element to upgrade the existing space. The architects decided to re-use the original foundation and walls and give the lower two stories a light renovation, but they replaced the original top story with a cantilevering volume that looks a lot like a periscope. The open-plan top story includes a long stretch of windows, which allow the occupants to peer over the Byfjorden.
