Gallery: 6 Clever tips to make your tiny apartment feel larger

Professional interior decorators have been saying this for ages, but it bears repeating - lightening up your floor color can make your home feel more spacious and airy. Just like in fashion, darker colors are "slimming," and tend to constrict, which is great if you want to look thinner but most people don't want to create the same effect in their homes. Redoing flooring can be pricey and may not be an option if you're a renter, so a nice area rug would do the trick as well.

Good tricks! I would add: you can also use any corner to have 8 plants with a modular vertical garden.

Thanks for the tips! I think many people are facing with this problem. I also read a lot on how to make rooms look bigger and more spacious. Can add some here. You are right that vertical storage allows you to free up valuable space on your floor. I also prefer using vertical shelves for my staff. You can paint the ceiling the color of the walls, or put some mirrors that reach to the ceiling it will give the feeling of a very spacious room. Plenty of natural light will also make its affect, big windows create an airier and more open atmosphere. Or if you like, look here for some ideas, people sell their apartments on this website and of course have many photos of their rooms, I found here some really nice ideas for living-room paint colors.

Could you please share where you got the room dividing six-drawer bottom and cube-like top from? Are they two pieces or one? Thank you.

great idea! mirrors are also a big help to make your room looks bigger. Instead of wall decorations, a mirror is a better aletrnative. go for slim appliances like flat screen tv. a 2 in one appliance like coffemaker with oven in 1. Light colors also give an illusion of space
