Who says hotel rooms can’t be uber-functional just because they’re tiny? Resource Furniture‘s 240-square-foot “Hotel Resource” booth aims to change the way travelers feel about compact accommodations by showcasing a luxury hotel suite outfitted with some of their newest and most innovative multi-purpose furniture.

Because it would be pretty un-green to ship an entire house to New York City, Blu Homes did the next best thing and is offering visitors the chance to tour one of their prefab, LEED Silver-certifiable, solar power-ready homes using the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset at their booth.

Escape the hubbub of the show floor by getting crafty at the American Society of Interior Designers‘ DIY booth. ASID teamed up with artists Steven and William Ladd to transform scrap materials from the show into an intricate, scrolled piece of art, and they want you to be a part of it. You can even take your own hand-made scroll home with you as a memento.

Plant Wall Design is bringing a breath of fresh air to entrance of the Dwell on Design NY show floor with a verdant vertical garden.

Colorhouse will be displaying their LEED-compliant, no-VOC, no-reproductive toxin green paints by showcasing a giant spin art wall that will grow and morph over the three days of the show. We also loved the interactive art wall painted with IdeaPaint‘s odorless, eco-friendly, low-VOC finish that can transform nearly any flat wall into a dry erase surface.
