Last but not least, you may be wondering about the name Nemo. The Weather Channel cites that the name has nothing to do with the Disney fish and instead refers to the both Greek boy’s name meaning “from the valley” and the word for “nobody” in Latin. We’re not sure that really explains anything about the naming process, but this NY Times article sheds a little more light on the choice, with some words from Weather Channel meteorologist Bryan Norcross, who adds that Captain Nemo from “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” was also part of the moniker selection process.
