Gallery: 7 Gorgeous Vertical Gardens That Bring Living, Growing Art to ...

A soothing spa setup is made even more serene with the addition of a planted wall.

plant wall design specializes in – you guessed it – planted walls, and they work together with architects and designers to create vegetal art to adorn both public and private areas. Designer Marie Christine Steffanetti and hydraulic systems engineer Laurent Corradi worked as a team to develop the company’s patented hydroponics automation technology, which allows plants to grow vertically. Their work can be seen in private home, restaurants, hotels, spas and stores across the globe, with a large chunk of their portfolio in NYC.

One of our favorite green walls by plant wall design was created for the Duggal Greenhouse at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The plants appear to streak across the piece, giving it an immense sense of movement.

The vertical garden above is an example of why you need to look up in NYC if you want to see its hidden treasures. It overlooks Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn and can be seen from the street if you’re paying enough attention.

We hope these green walls brought a little splash of color to your cold winter day. Don’t forget to click through our gallery to see even more beautiful living art.

Who needs art on the wall when your wall can be alive with edible greenery like this. It seems architects are more and more considering the application of “living” surfaces for walls, roofs and exterior elevations. These kinds of texturing have a practical, as well as aesthetic use of course whereby the feature offers benefits going forward, therefore are more than styling gimmickry. With the advent of living styling and more vertical inner city greenhouse projects the future seems bright for urban dwellers as urban must no longer be themed in grey, rather leafy greens, tattoos and awful beards !

Love it taking public or private spaces and transform them into beautiful slices of paradise. I consider this art and guerrilla gardening. For those that don\’t know what that means check this link livingwallplanters.com/press/vertical-guerrilla-gardening-with-wall-pots/
