For New York fans of Australian botanical skincare company Aesop, we have some very exciting news. Aesop is opening three New York City boutiques this year, starting with a flagship store in Nolita (expected to open in July 2011), followed by a kiosk at Grand Central Station and another boutique on Bleecker Street. Aesop has a refreshingly creative approach to storefront architecture. Unlike other typical chain stores, each Aesop boutique is individually designed to reflect and celebrate its local landscape. We recently gave you a taste of Aesop’s newest bamboo-swathed store in China, and we can’t wait to see what green designs its founder Dennis Paphitis has in store for New York!
From its humble beginnings back in Australia in 1987, Aesop’s plant-based unisex skin, hair and body products have since developed a global following. Its products, easily identified by their minimalist “apothecary style” packaging and inspiring philosophical quotes, are internationally renowned for the quality of their botanical ingredients. The organic products are complemented by each store’s design, specially created by a local designer who is familiar with the environment.
