Gallery: After Hurricane Sandy, Governor Cuomo Warns Utility Companies ...

It’s been ten days since Hurricane Sandy hit, and many New Yorkers and businesses are still without power. Although the recent nor’easter didn’t help matters, Governor Andrew Cuomo is not blaming the storm, but rather our utility infrastructure itself. Calling the current system out of date and designed for a 1950s market, the governor is holding companies like Con Ed, the Long Island Power Authority and National Grid responsible for being unprepared to operate properly after a storm like Sandy.
