New Yorkers may have to batten down the hatches today as the threat of another tornado looms over the city. The National Weather Service announced that a twister watch is in effect for New York and New Jersey until 7 PM tonight. The forecast predicts winds of up to 50 miles per hour, hail, thunderstorms, and dangerous lightning. If you do venture outside, be sure to wear your boots, as the Weather Service expects rain for the entire day up to two inches. If this sounds a bit like deja vu, that’s because only two weeks ago, Queens was struck by a powerful tornado. We hope everyone is able to stay safe and remain indoors if possible.
