From a human breast milk cheese shop to entire crocheted apartments, we’ve featured our fair share of unusual exhibits of artwork, but the latest exhibit by performance artist Marni Kotak takes the cake. For The Birth of Baby X, Kotak has transformed Bushwick’s Microscope Gallery into her home birthing room, and for the next five to six weeks, the very-pregnant Kotak will be on display. The exhibit will culminate in the all-natural birth of Kotak’s baby, which will take place in the gallery in front of a live audience. Microscope, located at 4 Charles Place, has specially extended their hours to 11am to 6pm, seven days a week, so the public has more opportunities to experience Kotak’s exhibit. Hit the jump to find out what exactly Kotak hopes the exhibit will show.
