The transFORM Gallery joined forces with Elisa Contemporary Art [8]to co-curate an international eco-minded art exhibit [9] featuring the works of artists Carole Eisner, Aurora Robson, Rodolfo Edward, Lisa Mee Doherty, and Adriana Rostovsky in honor of our planet. The artists are from as far away as Chile and as local as New York City, and came together in a collaboration that turns scrap metal, junk mail and other tossed out items into a message for our need to change our ways and learn to conserve.

The 3,000 square-foot gallery hosts 30 pieces of art on display from artists who’ve created sculptures and canvases using unique materials. Pieces range from $1,000 to $12,000. “My garbage [10] is my treasure,” artist Adriana Rostovsky told the New Rochelle Patch [11]. Hailing from Uruguay, Rostovsky’s art was inspired by conservation within her family. She appreciates the history behind the scraps and recycled materials that make up her pieces. “I believe in the energy of the artwork I create,” she continued. “I try to give each piece a story.”

The exhibit will be on display through June 1st at the transFORM Art Gallery located at 20 Jones Street in New Rochelle. “It’s all about saving our planet,” said [11] Lisa Cooper, owner of Elisa Contemporary Art in Riverdale. “It’s very exciting to display the artists’ work.”
