The vendors in Grand Central began hawking their goods on November 15, and they will be occupying the station’s historic Vanderbilt Hall until Christmas Eve. Now in its 12th year, the market offers a superb variety of more than 70 vendors. You’ll find handmade gifts, jewelry, toys, home decor and more. Bonus: the fair is elegantly decorated for the holidays, you don’t have to brave the cold to peruse the stands, and you can admire the Transit Museum‘s beautiful Holiday train show!

By Brooklyn celebrates all things Brooklyn by selling only goods that are made and produced right in the borough. The one-stop Brooklyn shop sells everything from Brooklyn Brine pickles and Anarchy in a Jar jams to t-shirts, stationary, lotions and jewelry — all made right here. The store was opened by Gaia DiLoreto in April 2011, and the shop sells goods from vendors who just got started and from companies that have been in business for decades. By Brooklyn also works with local community organizations and offers classes with local artists.

“Green” is the only word you need to describe Sustainable NYC. From all-natural toiletries and organic baby blankets to non-toxic cleaners and recycled clothing, Sustainable NYC sells everything you need to live a greener lifestyle. All of their products are either local, organic, recycled, fair trade, repurposed, biodegradable, or produced with alternative energy. The 1,300 square foot store is built from 300-year old reclaimed timber, and all of the furniture and fixtures are recycled and for sale. The wall paper and paint are eco-friendly, the outdoor sign is solar powered, and they use alternative energy electricity. They also have an in-house cafe, Ciao For Now, that serves organic coffee and all-natural baked goods. If every store was as fabulously green as Sustainable NYC, the world would be a much better place.
