Tonight from 7-10PM, CityFabric is hosting an exhibition of their civic-minded tees, totes, and stretched canvas art-pieces in conjunction with Hyperpublic, an NYC geolocal start-up. Based in Raleigh, NC, Matt Tomasulo started CityFabric as a way for people to become visually engaged with their community. In an effort to spark more inter-community discussion about city environments, CityFabric has created a series of art prints and wearable maps to address the growing problem of urban isolation.
Inspired by the work of Giambatista Nolli, City Fabric offers a modern interpretation of “figure-grounds” that gained such popularity in Raleigh, that they’ve now expanded to more dense cities. Tonight, CityFabric‘s “Wear You Live” pieces will be on display at the Hyperpublic headquarters: 416 West 13th Street, Suite 310, New York, NY.
