Gallery: ConEd Says Power to be Restored to Parts of Lower Manhattan To...

  • Over 900,000 were left without power in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, including 226,000 people living in Manhattan. Since the super storm, Consolidated Edison has been working day and night to get operations back up and running and today the company announced plans to restore power to a small part of lower Manhattan. If all goes according to plan, the tiny area at the tip of the island will have power for the first time in five days. ConEd also says that it is planning to turn the lights back on for the rest of Manhattan by Saturday.
