The Crosby Street Hotel in SoHo was recently awarded LEED Gold Certification by the US Green Building Council, making it the first LEED Gold Certified hotel in New York City. The stately building is situated on one of the last remaining truly quiet, cobble stoned streets in the SoHo neighborhood and is an elegant green escape from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Broadway shopping district. The hotel boasts water efficient landscaping, FSC certified wood products, energy efficient lighting, local and recycled materials, rooms filtered with air directly from outside and green housekeeping. The architects of the Crosby Street Hotel, Stonehill & Taylor Architects, designed 61 percent of the site as "open space" which provides enhanced air filtration and use of natural light indoors.
