The holidays are here! And if you're anything like us, you're scrambling to finish your last minute shopping and hoping to find unique gifts for your friends and family. Thankfully, the Brooklyn Craft Central Holiday Market is happening today, and with dozens of local designers hawking their wares, the market is the solution to all of our gifting problems. Head to Littlefield in Gowanus today to see what they have to offer.
The BKCC hand-picked the designers featured in this year’s fair, which is carefully curated to bring the best in gift ideas. With many handmade, sustainable, and eco-friendly pieces, the Holiday Market is a one-stop-shop to not only support local small businesses, but also to find that special something for your loved ones. This year, the fair is showcasing different designers on each day, for a totally different shopping experience on Saturday and Sunday.
To add to the fun and holiday cheer, the market will also host a holiday drink contest! Entrants can submit hot or cold holiday drink recipes, to be mixed on site by Littlefield bartenders and sampled by a panel of judges. The winner will receive two drinks on the house and free munchies from one of the yummy food trucks that will be serving tacos, dumplings, pizza and pupusas to market shoppers.
The fun begins at noon each day and lasts until 6 p.m. Vendors this year include handmade ceramics, upcycled jewelry, artisanal chocolates, hand screened t-shirts, organic bath and body products, knits, and much more. Saturday night, Littlefield stays open until 1 a.m. for the Brooklyn Craft Central’s official Christmas party, which includes gingerbread house making, DJ Treetop, gin punch specials, music and live comedy. The market is December 17th and 18th at Littlefield in Gowanus.
