Just when you thought Etsy couldn’t get any more awesome, they break out this custom-made Etsy-cle filled with compostable waste to help out a neighborhood farm! Every Friday, three Etsy employees volunteer to bike an average of 150 pounds of organic waste from their Dumbo, Brooklyn office to the the Red Hook Community Farm so that it can be turned into rich compost. Etsy, which is all about supporting makers and crafters, has always had sustainability at its core, but they’re clearly upping their green ante even more through fun initiatives like this one. And we have to say we’re a bit jealous of the three Etsy-ers that get to take a weekly Friday morning bike ride as part of their work (as if their jobs weren’t envy-inducing already).
