Donate a Bag of Food to Help Hurricane Sandy Victims

GrowNYC’s Donate-A-Bag initiative will be collecting food on Friday to help feed hungry New Yorkers, those affected by Hurricane Sandy and relief workers. They’re making it really simple for you to help – just purchase an extra bag of produce while you shop and bring it to the Market Information Tent.

So far, Greenmarket customers are donating harvest season items in record numbers in response to the immense need for hunger relief that Sandy created, over 10,000 pounds have found their way to community kitchens, churches, shelters, food pantries and others serving victims of the storm, so they thank you for your help!

Fridays DONATE-A-BAG events will be held at:

The 97th Street Greenmarket from 8am-12:30pm
The Union Square Greenmarket from 8am-12:30pm
