In preparation for the New York Food Book Fair, the Garden Gather Dinner invites local foodies to experience a private dinner of local fare at the new Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg. This Friday, guests can partake in a unique dinner honoring co-founder of the New York Mycological Society, John Cage, and benefitting GrowNYC’s New Farmer Development Project. Guests will enjoy a freshly gardened and foraged dinner by Chef-Artist Leif Hedendal and Mark Andrew Gravel.
The intimate dinner invites guests to preview a private, subterranean space in the new hotel on Williamsburg’s waterfront. The Wythe Hotel has transformed an abandoned red bricked factory, originally built in 1901, into a gorgeous new property and restaurant, run by Marlow and Sons.
The Garden Gather Dinner will feature a six course tasting menu, with incredible dishes made from local ingredients, such as braised heirloom red cowpeas with roasted pheasant’s back mushrooms and ramps. Beverages will be provided by the nearby Brooklyn Brewery.
Guests will also have the opportunity to chat with co-president of the New York Mycological Society, Eugenia Bone, and Gary Lincoff, author of The Audobon Society Field Guide to North American Mushrooms. Aside from incredible fare, a preview of Wythe Hotell and featured guests, the $150 tickets will help support GrowNYC’s New Farmer Development Project. Foodies of New York, get your tickets here, and kick off the New York Food Book Fair will incredible food and conversation.
