Gallery: Lamacek to Bring Fun and Funky Felted Creations to BKLYN Desig...

Williamsburg's Lamacek Design Studio already has one BKLYN Designs award under their belt for their clever wall-mounted Deer Head Light, so we're especially excited to see what tricks they have up their sleeves for 2013. While their steampunk-ish sustainable lighting series was super fun, Connie Lam and Michael Sedlacek are taking a different direction this year with their earth-friendly interiors and signature eco-felt made from recycled plastic bottles. Flip through our gallery for a small sample of their fun handcrafted work.

Long time collaborators in eco-design, Connie Lam and Michael Sedlacek are heading to BKLYN Designs 2013 for another round of local, kid-friendly design. And although they’ve been a little quiet about their new products, if their past furnishings are anything to go by, we can almost guarantee they will involve some recycled materials, maybe some steel and stainless glass, and a whole lot of color and innovation.

Some of our favorite designs from past collections include the rolled steel lounger that has a bright cushion of eco-felt that is made from recycled plastic. We are also big fans of their chic but sturdy tables topped with slate, glass and other innovative materials. The deer head lamp is a perennial favorite, so keep an eye out for that if you want a cool conversation starter to brighten up your home, and their bubble screen and mirror are striking too.
