The four stupendous playgrounds at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park are every kid’s dream. Swing Valley transform the standard playground swing with 10 different swing sets, Tarzan ropes, baby swings, and double-seaters. The Water Lab let’s kids splash around in a moat, fountain mound, and wading pool. In Slide Mountain, they can zip down a 13-foot winding tube slide, and in Sandbox village, they can create entire worlds in the 6,000 square foot sandbox. And parents can feel good about bringing their kids to play here: most of the materials are sustainably harvested or recycled, and all of the structures are hand-crafted from wood, with naturally-based textures. You can learn more about the Brooklyn Bridge Park’s green practices here.

I wish I was a kid again just so I could play on these playgrounds. In fact, I wish I even just KNEW a kid so I could go to these playgrounds. I’ve walked through a couple times to get to the ferry for Governor’s Island and I have never seen an unhappy child here. I think it would be impossible.
