DESCRIPTION
The Brooklyn Children’s Museum has been enriching children’s lives for more than 110 years. They host a variety of art and science exhibits, events, and educational programs that challenge children to learn about themselves, others, and the world around them. A couple years ago, the museum under went an $80 million dollar eco-renovation that doubled its size and qualified for LEED certification — it was the first green museum in New York City. The museum uses a geothermal heating and cooling system, solar power electricity, daylight sensors, and renewable and recycled materials in finishes and furniture, plus many more eco-features.

My daughter loves this museum. It is huge and inviting to children of all ages. For the little ones there is a toddler area that admits children from NB to age five. There is a puppet theater, sand box, water table and more. For the older children the museum has a variety of areas covering different subjects that go from cultural dances to animals and plants. You need a couple of trips to cover and enjoy the whole museum.
My children absolutely LOVE this museum! When my daughter was younger, she played in the toddler area – she loved having the ability to roam free and have some independence. As an older child she loves exploring and learning from the different displays. Now that my son is beyond the toddler stage too, they have so much fun roaming around and learning about the different displays in the museum. I highly recommend this museum to families with young children. It prepares them for the adult museums while keeping them entertained.
