DESCRIPTION
Affectionately known as BWAC (bee-wack), the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition exists in a repurposed pre-Civil War era warehouse on the waterfront in Red Hook, with stunning views of the harbor and Statue of Liberty. The massive 25,000 square foot gallery is a unique venue that houses changing exhibits put on by the members of the coalition, all local Brooklyn artists. They host three large exhibits each year, including an outdoor sculpture show, plus a variety of screenings and music performances

I love warehouses that have been converted into arts spaces, but BWAC’s is extra special because of its awesome waterfront location. The exhibits they put on are always fantastic — the gallery is so huge, that I can wander around for a couple hours and not see the same thing twice. I especially love visiting in the summer when they have live music.
Love this place and so happy they are still around. A couple of years ago they weren’t so sure about the future. The feel of the space is fantastic with those big plank floors and the massive beams that hold it all together. The shows are always top-notch with a wide array of styles and artists. Such a positive thing for Red Hook.
